Purpose of the post
The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the fundraising team to maximise income and support for EIA. They will contribute to raising EIA income from individual donors, community fundraising and legacies and will support the Senior Fundraiser in raising income from Trusts and Foundations. They will be responsible for maintaining the fundraising administrative systems.
Reports to: Head of Fundraising
Main responsibilities
Generating income from EIA’s supporter base (including appeals and raffles)
Contributing to the development of digital fundraising initiatives
Efficiently operate fundraising administrative systems to support the smooth running of the Fundraising Department
Maintaining the membership base and general supporter services
Management of legacy programme
Extract data from the membership database for fundraising initiatives
General administrative assistance to the team
As directed by the Head of Fundraising and in cooperation with the Finance Department, produce quarterly gift aid information from the database to facilitate claims
Maintain appropriate budget and finance systems
Deal with enquiries promptly and effectively, including the timely thanking of donations
Researching potential grant-making funders in UK and Europe
Assisting the trust officer in maintaining records of grant funding and occasionally assisting in drafting proposals and reports to funders
Contribute to production of effective supporter communications
As required, oversee volunteers undertaking administrative work or assisting with events
Essential Requirements
At least two years fundraising experience
Energetic self-starter able to work on own initiative with attention to detail
Well-organized, able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Excellent English skills (including spelling and grammar)
Previous experience of dealing with supporters
Legal right to work in the UK
Desirable Skills
Knowledge and experience of using Access and Excel
Previous experience of digital fundraising techniques
