Senior Fundraising Officer - Foundations, Trusts and Statutory Funding
We are looking for an experienced professional fundraiser with a strong Foundation and Trusts grant track record, along with either experience of or a keen interest in Statutory(European and UK Government Departments) to implement EIA’s fundraising strategy so that we achieve our targets and are able to support our innovative campaigns
Purpose of the post
The Senior Fundraising Officer will work as part of the fundraising team to maximise income and support for EIA from foundations and trusts and statutory sources (FT&S). They will maintain, manage and develop EIA’s FT&S fundraising programme by researching and identifying currently available and new potential income streams. They will be required to manage key relationships with FT&S, keep the grants database up to date and maintain the reporting calendar. The Senior Fundraising Officer will be expected to increase EIA’s knowledge, relationships and financial support from the European Union (both statutory and private funding organisations) and to set realistic and achievable targets for income generation from these sources

Main responsibilities
Write effective fundraising applications, ranging from short concise descriptions of EIA’s work to in-depth analytical explanations of campaign programmes which are targeted and specific to individual FT&Ss (with assistance of campaigners or based on concept notes provided by them). For statutory and institutional trusts and foundations, proposals may include detailed and technical information in the form of logframes
Write concise and clear project reports according to funders’ deadlines including, where necessary, financial reporting
Research prospective new FT&Ss from a wide range of sources in line with identified funding priorities
Develop relationships with potential new funders, in writing, by phone, or in person
Assist the Head of Fundraising in production of plans for agreed fundraising priorities, ensuring effective use of available resources
Participate in other fundraising department team projects and provide cover for colleagues as required
Develop and maintain systems of coordination and tracking for all contacts and relationships with institutional and foundation and trusts
Occasional travel to meetings in the UK and Europe
Producing annual SF&T fundraising budgets in line with strategic priorities
Assist Head of Fundraising in producing annual budgets for the fundraising department
Monitor, analyse and produce timely internal reports on performance of proposals on a monthly, annual and ad hoc basis
Essential Requirements
At least three years’ proven successful experience of seeking and gaining commitment from Foundations and Trusts, UK Government and EU funding
Excellent written English (including grammar, spelling, creative writing)
Excellent research and networking skills
Experience of managing complex projects and donor relationships
Strong project management, organisational and budgeting and financial management skills
Proven ability to manage and develop relationships with medium and large trusts and foundations
Proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly verbally and in writing
Ability to identify and maximise funding opportunities
Ability to analyse financial information and present it in an accessible format
Legal right to work in the UK
Desirable Skills
Knowledge and experience of the not-for-profit environment sector
Fluency in a European language
