EIA has worked since 1998 with Telapak on our illegal logging campaign in Indonesia.
In 1999, EIA/Telapak started providing video camera equipment and training to a network of grass roots non-government organisations in Indonesia. We have trained over 100 NGOs to use video and photography and 12 to use editing equipment. The NGOs with editing equipment now act as a conduit for information in their area of Indonesia.
The project in Indonesia has significantly enhanced the ability of local organisations and communities to ensure their voices are heard in Indonesia. It has provided them with an international platform using a universal media. We continue to share information and skills within this network. These NGOs provide important information on the ground and are an excellent resource for people wanting to work in the area. For full contact details please click on the map below.
