Wildlife Society of Orissa

Summary: The Society works in the eastern Indian state of Orissa with focus on conservation of tiger, elephants and sea turtles and their habitats. The Society undertakes legal action, research, lobbying, education and awareness, status surveys and documentation of endangered species and habitats. Runs several field projects in the state. Collects trade intelligence on illegal wildlife trade in tiger skins, elephant tusks, turtles, snakes, etc. in the state and organises undercover operations to make seizures. Pollution control is also another work area for us for which it has been recognised by the Govt. of India.
